Clinical Medicine Program (CMP)

Our Clinical Medical Program (CMP) is designed for medical graduates or students currently in an M.D./M.B.B.S. program outside the United States, who are interested in furthering their residency experience by gaining more exposure to medical practice in the U.S.

  • Students will be able to participate in 4-12 weeks of elective rotations of their choice in ACGME-approved hospitals within the U.S.
  • Our program is designed to prepare you to become a knowledgeable, skillful, compassionate, and dutiful physician as you enhance your residency experience.

Tuition & Fees

  • Hospital Fees: $1,000.00 per week
  • Malpractice insurance: $500.00 per 4 weeks

Application Requirements

  • Must be an M.D/M.B.B.S 3rd, 4th, or 5th year student, or current graduate
  • Current official medical school transcripts
  • Dean’s letter from current medical school requesting elective rotations with discipline name and duration
  • Complete the application with a background check
  • Current passport
  • Current physical exam with all the immunizations and TB test
  • Completion of USMLE Step 1

Application Process

  1. Online application
  2. Submission of the required documents
  3. Submission of 8 passport-size photos
  4. Submission of hospital fees and malpractice insurance fees
  5. Personal phone interview with the clinical staff
  6. Clinical rotations will be scheduled
  7. Receiving 2 acceptance letters: one from AUSOMA and one from the clinical site
  8. Applying for US visa and once received, a copy should be sent to AUSOMA
  9. Travel plans
